Now-a-days, when the cost for everything is going up, some of our top colleges are giving back, by offering free college courses through an online educational platform called Coursera.
Brown, Columbia, Emory, Vanderbilt, Wesleyan University, as well as Berklee College of Music and Mount Sinai School of Medicine are some of the private colleges offering free courses through Coursera; which is a for-profit company that was started by Daphne Koller and Andrew Ng of Stanford University.
Now this virtual university platform offers more than 200 courses from 33 educational institutions. To date they have registered close to 1.3 million students around the world.
